Creating Nolan's Nursery

I have wanted to post about Nolan's room for a very long time.  Mostly, because Justin needs to be recognized for all of his hard work and handiness, but also purely for my journaling purposes.

We started off with the crib.  IKEA has one of the best rated cribs (according to Consumer Reports and the Baby Bargains book), and we liked their prices, so we headed over to IKEA in February during their "Get free food with $100 purchase" deals.  (If you buy $100 or more in home furnishings--which is anything in their store--you get your meal free in their in-house restaurant.)  Justin and I go all out during these opportunities and make sure we have extra free cookies and candy bars to take home.

Then we ordered a combo changing table/dresser online in February.  It was backordered, and re-backordered twice, and the day before it was supposed to be delivered (May 12th), they canceled our order. We didn't worry too much at the time, thinking we had almost a month before Nolan was due.

When Nolan surprised us by coming a bit early, the crib was up and ready but we had no other furniture. So a few days later, Justin bought a dresser at IKEA, we picked out a glider, and Justin assembled them all.

And my sister Camille helped turn the boring walls into an actual nursery.  The framed animals capture Nolan's attention when he's getting a diaper change, but I don't think he even notices the mobile.
