Raking Leaves

Nolan got the impression that raking and jumping into leaves is a fabulous fall activity. (I'll blame Curious George.) He noticed that our front lawn had LOTS of leaves, and asked if we could rake them. Nolan was so excited, and our landlord was pleased that we offered to help.

Nolan did a great job raking, even though the rake was double his size.

Way past-peak trees. Almost naked.

Grant just crawled around. He was happy for the first half. (p.s., Grant's coat is for 18mo. The sleeves are extra long, but it almost doesn't zip up around his belly. Chunky.)

Nolan was excited to get his first jump in, but he kept on telling me the pile wasn't big enough. I think the leaves didn't give him quite as much bounce as he was expecting.

And then we threw Grant on top, too, and he was definitely not pleased. Couldn't tell by this picture, though. Nolan does a great job at making him smile.
