Date Night at Lone Star Park

Friday night we went out with some friends to Lone Star Park, a horse racing track in Grand Prairie, TX. The admission ticket price is cheap, so we always include a few wagers as a part of our entertainment cost for the night. Since we are experts, we always know exactly the right bets to place.

For example, here is Solar Charge. We liked his name--very green and eco-friendly. Who doesn't believe that we should use more solar energy? And with that knowledge, we knew he would win. So we bet $2 he'd take 1st.

He showed (3rd place).

However, on that race, our good friends bet on #6 Dakota Gypsy, and won $21.40. They didn't even know the horse's name when they placed the bet--they just picked a number from 1 to 8.

Our luck was similar throughout the night--Rush the Net, Saintly Special, and Peach Money all failed us. But even with losing all 4 of our $2 bets, it was still cheaper than going to a movie. After the races we all stopped by IHOP for a bite, and then headed home. A great date night! (Got to get those dates in before we need a baby sitter!)
