Up up and away!

We've been so busy trying to settle in and get used to our new life in Connecticut that we haven't had much time to explore.  On Saturday we finally ventured outside our usual area and headed over to the Plainville Hot Air Balloon Festival.  There were small craft vendors and a hypnotist and ZERO balloons when we got there.  Apparently the winds were dangerous for flying.

So after not being hypnotized, Nolan practiced walking.

And then the winds were starting to look favorable, so they sent a tester balloon out.  Everyone gathered around this balloon.  And it's a good thing, too--it was the only one that left the ground.

Two other balloons inflated, but that was about it.
But the weather was wonderful and it was free, so it still turned out to be a great afternoon.

  1. I love the picture of the hot air balloon itself! You should blow it up. Looks like a fun event!
