San Antonio (#2) and Austin

Every year the three dental schools in Texas compete in sporting events at the "Dental School Olympics."  This year it was held in San Antonio. [Last year we went down to Houston--here's the link to that post and some pictures of a very swollen, pregnant me.]

Justin played softball and dodgeball, and when Baylor was missing a girl for tennis, I stepped in for the match (I lost, but had SO much fun).

Nolan was a trooper at the games,

but it was getting a bit hot, so we went back to the hotel so Nolan could cool off and nap.

One last picture with the trophy before handing it over to San Antonio (yes, they lost, but 3 years winning in a row isn't bad).

That night we went over to Will's home for a Texas barbeque with several of our friends.

Starting at the top left: Justin and Will; Lynndi and Howard; DLT, Victor, and Mike; Luke, Allen, and Laura Mortimer; Will and Blake; Roddy and Dylan

Sunday morning we had breakfast...
Our hotel's breakfast had TEXAS shaped Belgian waffles.
Never before have I had such a delicious waffle ;)

...and stopped in downtown San Antonio to see the Alamo and the Riverwalk before heading back to Dallas.

About halfway home we stopped in Austin (Texas' capital).  We had a picnic lunch on the Capitol grounds and took a tour of the Capitol building.

And then we took a rather long walk over to see the University of Texas' campus.

We had a great time, but it was exhausting.  Nolan didn't care much for being in the car seat, so Justin decided that we would be flying to Connecticut rather than take a 4+ day (30+ hour) road trip out east.
